Tree Mapping

Communitree is a grassroots group formed to protest environmental destruction and promote a tree protection by-law in the city of Mississauga.

Tree Mapping is an exhibit of prints of the trees that Communitree endeavours to protect. The prints, oil rubbings on mulberry paper, involve physical interaction between each person and an endangered tree. Each print is preserved with beeswax, a process that renders it transparent and lends a skin like quality.
