Self
Portrait Project
Sheena’s
Place is a community centre offering hope and support for people affected
by eating disorders. Participants in the Self-Portrait Project, with
facilitator-artist, Rochelle Rubinstein, created a large block printed
and dyed organza banner. It represents the culmination of three years
of collaborative fabric work - printing, painting, and sewing, which
hangs in various parts of Sheena’s Place. The banner is an investigation
and validation of experiences and conflicts, both inner and social,
as well as an exciting collaborative experiment in line, shape and colour.
