Empowerment and Street — Knowledge Screening and Panel

City-streets are not merely a benign conduit for people to reach destinations. Streets are an important vehicle for dissemination of various kinds of knowledge-either consistent or inconsistent with the existing social order. Street events like parades, celebrations, demonstrations and festivals are mediums for propagating such knowledge. This workshop includes a video, panel, and interactive discussion of the social, political, economic and educational significance of street events. Panelists include OISE Doctoral candidate, Enam Huque; writer/theatre producer, Cynthia Grant; filmmaker, Tina Hahn; artist, Laurie Kallis; and media artist, Scott Treleaven who will be moderating.
