CAB Opening Party

Saturday, May 13, 5 to 8 pm
Loftus Lloyd Café and Courtyard
401 Richmond St. West

The Opening Celebration of Toronto's first Community Arts Biennale was a vibrant start to the festival. Mistress of Ceremonies, artist Carole Conde formally welcomed the crowd of guests, and provided brief introductions to the CAB staff, board, and some of our generous supporters. Ontario Arts Council officer, Melanie Fernandes, Trillium Foundation Program Manager, Andrew Lee, MP, Carolyn Bennett and City Councillor, Olivia Chow were all on hand to lend their insights and congratulations. While slides, and a taste of the raw footage from Maria Teresa Larrain's community arts documentary, flickered away in the A Space gallery, the 401 courtyard was filled with the Latin sounds of Marcelo Puente and his band. The guests and participants were so thrilled by CAB's kick-off, that the opening was truly memorable.
